Fix Duplicate Xbox Controller Input in Delverium
For an Xbox controller producing duplicate inputs or appearing as duplicate devices, try disabling Steam Input for Delverium only: Steam Library → Delverium → Properties → Controller → Override → Disable Steam Input. A September 24 player using Xbox wireless/dongle input confirmed that the developer's advice solved their issue.

Check that the symptom matches
Use this branch for an Xbox controller detected as duplicate devices or producing repeated input, including the wireless/dongle case confirmed in the September thread. A generic “Controller Detected” popup on a Windows laptop can have a different cause.
Change the Delverium-specific override
- Open Steam Library, right-click Delverium and choose Properties.
- Open Controller. Note the current Override setting so you can restore it.
- Choose Disable Steam Input for Delverium.
- Restart the game and test whether one input now produces one action, and whether the duplicate device symptom is gone.
If it does not help your controller
Restore the original Override setting and record the controller model, connection method, build and exact repeated action. GalaxyPolice confirmed the developer's suggestion solved their Xbox case; that does not establish a cure for every controller or every popup.
This procedure changes the game's override. Editing an input XML file, reinstalling drivers and changing other games' settings are separate troubleshooting routes and are not required by this successful Xbox report.
